Nollywood actress, singer, model and philantrophist, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde is the beautiful wife of Captain Matthew Ekehinde and mother of four.
A descendant of Ondo, born in Lagos on 7th February, 1978, Omotola is the daughter of Oluwashola and Oluwatoyin Jalade. She had her early education in Lagos at Chrisland School, Opebi, Oxford children school, Santos layout, Command secondary school and studied estate management at Yaba college of Technology.
Omotola made a career in acting when she starred in her debut film ‘Venom of Justice’ in 1995 and since then she has featured in over 300 Nollywood movies. Her debut movie earned her an award for the best English actress and best actress overall by THEMA.
Aside her show and business accomplishments, she is also applauded for her humanitarian efforts and fierce human rights campaigner. Omotola’s philanthropy efforts are mainly centered on her NGO project: The Omotola Youth Empowerment Program, she also launched her own reality show in 2102, Omotola: the real me on Africa magic entertainment.
Omotola is one of the pioneers of the video film era of Nigerian cinema which earned her the honour of the most influential people in the world in 2013 and the first African celebrity to receive over one million likes on her facebook page.
In 2013, she made her international television debut and since then appeared in various international movies which has earned her numerous awards such as Best Actress-Africa Collaboration, Actress of the Year 2011, Pan African Best Actress, best actress in Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, 2017, Best Actress in a Movie/TV Series 2018.
Omotola has featured in numerous movies such as Ije, The Lost Kingdom, Blood Sisters, Last Wedding Alter Ego, Games Women Play, Amina, The Island Tribunal, and many more.
Omo sexy as fondly called by her fans is a lover of fashion and a body to die for, in 2005 she pursued a career in the music industry releasing an album titled ‘GBA’ which produced singles such as ‘Naija Lowa’, ‘Things U Do To Me’.
