US Open: Milos Raonic Withdraws From Flushing Meadows Because Of Wrist Injury

With four days left to the start of the last Grand Slam of the year, the injury list continues to grow. Several high profile players has already withdrawn from the Flushing Meadows event and the Canadian is the latest to join the trail.

World number 11 Milos Raonic has withdrawn from the US Open because of a wrist injury.

The 26-year-old joined the likes of defending champion Stan Wawrinka, Novak Djokovic, Kei Nishikori as players who have been ruled out through injury.

Raonic said he was unable to give “full effort” as a result of his injury.

“I have too much respect for the US Open and my fellow competitors to take a spot in the draw when I know I cannot give full effort due to this injury,” he said.
