Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has called killer of Washington Columnist Jamal Khashoggi a “Puppetmasters” also called out to be unmasked.
On Friday on Washington Post, the Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said the order to kill journalist Jamal Khashoggi came from the highest levels of the Saudi government and certain Saudi officials were trying to cover up the crime.
He emphasized the need to unravel the identity of persons behind the journalist killing which he called a “puppetmasters”.
“As responsible members of the international community, we must reveal the identities of the puppet masters behind Khashoggi’s killing and discover those in whom Saudi officials —still trying to cover up the murder — have placed their trust.”
He has however said that he did not believe that Saudi King Salman had ordered the killing of Khashoggi, He also said that Turkey’s close ties to Saudi Arabia did not mean that Turkey could turn a blind eye to the killing of the journalist, WASHINGTON POST.
Jamal Khashoggi who was killed in Saudi Consul In Turkey on Oct 2, was believed to have been strangled and his body was ripped apart and later dissolved in acid or other chemical substance to cover up his murder. Turkish official Yasin Aktay, a ruling party adviser to Erdogan and friend to Khashoggi told Associated Press on Friday. He said,
“all the findings point to his body parts being melted.”
