Troops Kill 39 Boko Haram Rebels At Lake Chad

Military Troops belonging to the Nigerian and Chadian Army have killed no fewer than 39 Boko Haram islamic insurgents in a recent offensive attack conducted around lake chad.

Troops of MNJTF Sector 2 (Chad) and Sector 3 (Nigeria) while on clearance operation in consonance with operation YANCIN TAFKI on Tuesday 16 April 2019 have neutralized 39 members of Boko Haram in Cross Kauwa village in the Lake Chad Region, ” the Nigerian Army said.

The Boko Haram insurgency began in 2009, when the jihadist group Boko Haram started an armed rebellion against the government of Nigeria. Over 50,000 people have been killed in the conflict, with over 2.5 million displaced from their homes in north-eastern Nigeria.
