Senator representing Anambra South District, Ifeanyi Ubah, has disclosed the urgent need to strengthen security agencies in all Nigerian airports.
The Capital Oil boss made the call during Tuesday’s plenary in support of a motion sponsored by Senator (Dr.) Ibrahim Yahaya Oluriegbu and some other distinguished colleagues.
The businessman who was elected on the platform of the Young People’s Party (YPP) also charged the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) Police, Immigration, Customs and other security agencies to work cooperatively and coexist harmoniously in a bid to improve the security of lives and property at the Nigerian Airports.
He added: “In view of the urgent need for a substantive legislative agenda for the ninth Senate, I was also appointed to serve as a Member in the Senate Ad-hoc Committee on Legislative Agenda which is saddled with the responsibility of providing a robust and viable framework that will set the tone for a progressive and successful Ninth Senate.
“The committee which is to be chaired by Senator Mohammed Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central) has in its composition, Senator Jibrin Barau (Kano North), Senator Uche Ekwunife (Anambra Central), Senator Aishatu Dahiru (Adamawa Central), Senator Gershom Bassey (Cross River South), Senator Abdulfatah Buhari (Oyo North) and other Distinguished Senators.”
