Rusian Boxer Maxim Dadashev Dies In US Hospital After Collapsing

  Rahaman Abiola Russian boxer Maxim Dadashev has died in a US hospital after collapsing outside the ring, following his fight with Puerto Rico’s Subriel Matias at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland on Friday, July 19.

The 28-year-old and Matias were in action during the junior welterweight IBF World Title Elimination fight for the chance to challenge Josh Taylor for his title belt.

 

“Top Rank is devastated to report that Maxim Dadashev passed away earlier this morning due to injuries sustained, ”  Dadashev’s promoter said

in a statement. According to trainer Buddy McGirt and Donatas Janusevicius, Dadashev strength and conditioning coach, Dadashev passed away from injuries suffered during Friday’s fight.

 “Maxim was a talented young fighter inside the ring and a loving husband and father outside the ropes. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends,

” Top Rank tweeted. According to ESPN, Dadashev had to be helped out of the ring, where he started to vomit and lost consciousness.
