Portuguese star and Juventus ace, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to achieve 100 Champions League wins in Tuesday’s 1-0 success over Valencia. He played a key role against Valencia, providing the assist for the goal which Mario Mandzukic scored in the 59th minute.
The goal by Mandzukic placed Juventus in an advantaged position to beat Valencia and to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League. Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri hailed Cristiano Ronaldo’s positive impact on the Italian champions.
Allegri commended the improvements the team had seen so far saying;
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is the Champions League’s all-time top-scorer, with 121 goals so far and also the player with the second highest appearances in the top European competition, only behind Iker Casillas. He got his 100th Champions League win making him the first player ever to get that.
Ronaldo will also be clutching a sixth Champions League title to add to his four trophies with Manchester United and Real Madrid, if Juventus wins the Champions League title this season.
