Rochas Foundation School In Owerri By EFCC

EFCC operatives from the Enugu zonal office have sealed the Rochas Foundation School in Owerri, Students were reportedly stopped from gaining entry to the facility by operatives of the anti-graft agency

The Rochas Foundation since inception in 1998 has graduated about 3,000 students Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Enugu zonal office on Tuesday, July 23 barred about 1,500 students of the Rochas Foundation School in Imo state from gaining access to the school.

 

The students, who are children of less privileged people in the society who are catered for academically and welfare-wise free of charge, were reportedly stopped from gaining entry to the facility. Several eyewitness accounts say EFCC officials forcefully gained entry into the premises and molested those on the ground in the facility.

 “Several students sustained varying degrees of injuries and are now currently receiving treatment, with a female student on her monthly period reportedly kicked in the stomach,

” one of the witnesses told journalists.

The Rochas Foundation since inception in 1998 has graduated about 3,000 students of the vulnerable in the society who have contributed immensely to the development of the country. Calls to the media aide of Senator Rochas Okorocha for a reaction were not answered as at the time of this report.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, wishes to state that it’s Enugu zonal office on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, marked some properties traced to the former Imo state governor, Owelle   Rochas Okorocha as well as those of his family members and cronies.

The marking of the properties which is a fall-out of our painstaking investigation is as a result of the failure of the suspects to honor the commission’s invitation for questioning on the propriety of their acquisition.

Okorocha, having noted his penchant for frivolities and propaganda, but this refusal has become pertinent in other to clear doubts especially in these days of fake news.

We urge  Nigerians to disregard the antics of some unscrupulous politicians and fraudsters who seek to distract the commission from holding them accountable for their nefarious activities. he said
