Robbers Shoot Man, Snatch N1.7m in Front of Bank

Armed thieves assaulted a man before a bank at Ajibade transport stop on Mokola/Sango street, Ibadan, on Wednesday evening as he advanced into the bank.

The casualty said the criminals grabbed the N1.7m he had on him.

A horde of sympathizers and spectators assembled around the casualty as he squirmed miserably after one of the thieves shot him in the two legs.

The casualty educated that he had boarded a business cruiser to the place, and that not long after he paid the admission, he was hailed by two men who likewise arrived in a bike.

He said they approached him for cash, with a danger to shoot him in the event that he won’t.

“I thought they were men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad; along these lines, I disclosed to them that I was not a criminal and that I was setting off to the bank.

“In any case, one of them drew out a firearm and when I deferred in giving over the cash, he shot me on the two legs. Along these lines, I gave the cash to them,” said the casualty.

The business motorcyclist who conveyed him to the spot said instantly after he dropped him at the transport stop, he heard two firearm shots and suspected that his last traveler could be the casualty.

He stated, “I brought him here a few minutes back and when he landed, I picked another traveler who was going to Sango.

“I had just moved a couple of meters when I heard two weapon shots. I expected that he could be the casualty on the grounds that the sound of the firearm was from where I had dropped him.

“On my way back, I saw a group and my dread was affirmed when I saw him in the pool of his own blood.”

The business motorcyclist said he got the burglary casualty at Mokola and was suspicious of two men following on a cruiser simply behind them.
