Not fewer than five persons from Eweh community in Khana local government area of Rivers state have been murdered by suspected Cultists in the past 72 hours.
A member of the community who spoke with FR News under strict anonymity said two young men were killed in the early hours of today.
He said the first invasion happened on Friday night about 11pm.
“The gunshots was too much and members of the community have to flee to the bush and nearby villages for their safety,” he said.
Our source revealed that after the invaders had left on Friday night, villagers counted three dead bodies and one other person that is critically injured.
“Please we need Military presence in my community,” he begged.
Rivers state has in recent years become a haven for cultist who carry out their violent activities in the open and unchallenged.
Since Friday, nearly 25 persons have been reported killed in similar circumstances at various parts of the state.
