Prince Harry in a documentary reveals scenario when he asked his father to walk Meghan down the aisle.
Ahead of Prince Charles’ big 70, prince harry reveals what happened when he asked his father, the Duke of Cornwall and heir to the throne Prince Charles to walk Meghan down the aisle, He said in BBC documentary called Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70.
Just before the great day of their wedlock, Meghan’s dad Thomas Markle was not fit to walk his daughter down the aisle due to his failing health, he was suffering from heart attack, which he could not attend his daughter wedding. it was reported that a note was published on behalf of the Duchess of Sussex, Princess Meghan,
“Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding,” she said. “I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.”
this caused a great concern for both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, after which Prince Charles was then asked to do the honour of walking Meghan down the aisle, however, a day before her wedding Meghan asked the Prince of Wales to walk her down the aisle.
According to the new BBC documentary, Prince Charles did not take time to consider the offer, he immediately accepted, he said,
“I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming, and he immediately said ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Meghan needs and I’m here to support you,”
Eonline News reported that at one moment in the wedding, Prince Harry could apparently be seen mouthing the words “Thank you” to his father. “Just because he’s my father that doesn’t mean I can just sort of go, ‘Okay, that’s all, I’ll take it from here”.
