BREAKING:Policeman Hospitalized as Fire Guts Igbinedion’s Residence

On Wednesday, a sudden inferno gutted the edifice of Barr. Omosede Igbinedion, a lawmaker representing Ovia Constituency in the House of Representatives, which an Assistant Superintendent of Police serving under the Aideyan Division was hospitalized after inhaling smoke while attempting to put out the fire.

The police man whose identity could not be ascertained was rushed to the hospital in a police hilux van.

It was learnt that the building was given to Omosede as a wedding gift from her father, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom.

Some of her staff in the house said the fire started from her bed room which was locked.

The policeman climbed a ladder to apply fire extinguishers to stop the inferno from spreading but the thick smoke bellowing from the building prevented him.

Chief Igbinedion and his wife, Lady Sherry who were at the scene looked worried, but the urgent intervention of the Edo fire service stopped the spread of the fire.

Barrister Omosede who was said to have gone for campaigns later arrived.
