The Nigeria Labour Congress in Borno State has charged Governor Kashim Shettima to pay pensions and gratuity before he leaves office.
The state NLC Chairman, Titus Abana, in an interview with newsmen today in the state capital, noted that gratuity of retirees in the state was last paid in 2013.
He stated that all efforts made to get the government to pay the retirees have been futile, adding that the NLC met with the governor who pledged to pay before he leaves office.
The chairman further stressed that many retirees lived in frustrations as a result of non-payment of gratuities and pension
He further charged the governor to address the accommodation problems of civil servants, while also noting that they are optimistic that the new administration will address major issues of workers in the state.
