Parliament Appoints First Ethiopian Female President

Sahle Work Zewde Ethiopian first female president.

Sahle-Work Zewde has been appointed as Ethiopian first female president. this came as a result of the resignation of the Ethiopian President Mulatu Teshome Wirtu, on 25th October, he has been the head of state since October 2013.

However, the Ethiopian Parliament, Have deliberated his successor, which was given to a well-seasoned diplomat Sahle Work Zewde, making her the 4th Ethiopian President.

Sahle is an Ethiopian diplomat and currently the 4th President of Ethiopian, she was the special representative of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to the African Union. she served as Ambassador to Senegal with accreditation to Mali, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Gambia and Guinea from 1989–1993.
