Following the tribunal’s judgment on the September 22 governorship elections in Osun state, the speaker of the state house of assembly, Najeem Salam, has urged residents of the state to be calm and law abiding.
The Election Petition Tribunal for the state, on Friday, declared the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, winner of the poll
Najeem, while speaking during the state assembly’s plenary session stated that Gboyega Oyetola is still the governor of the state and still in charge of the state’s administration, adding that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will challenge the tribunal’s judgment.
“Oyetola is still in-charge and he remains the governor of Osun state; APC is still the party in control of the state.
“I also want to warn hoodlums not to use the judicial pronouncement to disrupt the peace being enjoyed in the state.
“I am using this medium to call on security agents to charge and prevent any breakdown of law and order in the state,” Salaam added.
