MTNN, 15 Others Extend Market Nightmare, Post 0.22% Loss

Transactions in the Nigerian equity market on Wednesday closed negative, as losing streak extends to four consecutive trading days, following sell-off on  MTNN and 15 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed negative, recording 11 gainers against 16 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 58.72absolute points, representing a dip of 0.22% to close at 26,974.38 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N30.59 billion, representing a dip of 0.22% to close at N14.05 trillion.

HONYFLOURemerged as the top gainer while VITAFOAMemerged as top loser.

The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; ETI (-3.85%), MTNN (-3.45%), WAPIC(-3.13%)UCAP(-2.39%), FBNH(-0.92%) and STERLNBANK (-0.67%).
