Miss Mexico Venessa Ponce de Leon Crowned Miss World 2018

26 years old Venessa Ponce de Leon crowned Miss World 2018.

On December 8, Saturday 2018, amid 118 contestants Miss Mexico, Venessa Ponce de Leon made history as she was crowned the winner of the 68th edition of Miss World which took place in Sanya, China. She was crowned by Manushi Chhillar of India, winner of the 2017 edition at the end of the event.

Venessa Ponce is the first Mexican woman to take home the crown, beating, miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo, Thailand Nicole Limsnukan and other finalists from Belarus, France, Scotland, Jamaica, Martinique, Panama and more.

The new Miss World who could not believe her eyes thanked contestants after being crowned Miss World 2018, she said,

“I can’t believe it, I really can’t believe it, and I think all the girls deserved it. I am proud to represent all of them. I will do as much as I can in the time I have got. Thank you so much, everyone.” So sweet!

Venessa Ponce De Leon holds a degree in International Business, A model and TV presenter. She is currently a member of the Boards of Directors for a rehab center for girls, Mexico, a volunteer for Migrantes en el Camino in Mexico, and speaker for the National Youth Institute.

Venessa Ponce is now the face of this fundraising program, founded by Miss World head Julia Morley that gives money to charities around the world. We all need each other, represents her personal motto as she presented to the Miss World organisation.
