Lagos State Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Dies

It was announced that Abulfatai Oyesanya popularly called Oyesco, the Chairman of Ikosil-Isheri Local Council Development is dead.

Meanwhile, it was told on Tuesday that the 60s deceased rises from Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State Local dies at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital, Ikeja Lagos, after a brief illness. He was laid to rest at Ijebu-Ode according to Islamic rites.

According to Rabia Hassan the Head of Affairs Unit, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA described the deceased as a good man who brought development and Infacturture to the area while praying to God to grant him eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

“Before his death, Oyesanya constructed an ultra-modern office complex at the council secretariat. The new office complex had reached 95 percent completion stage and according to his plan, the building was slated for commissioning in the first quarter of 2020,” Hassan said.

Meanwhile, a community leader in the council, who preferred anonymity, described the death of Oyesanya, saying, “he has been battling with an undisclosed illness since December last year before he finally succumbed to the cold hands of death.

“Before his illness, there had been some wrangling between the council and the Ketu market. No one fights that market without paying for it as the market has a record of dealing with people when it comes to its sale or redevelopment.”

In his reaction, the chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government area, Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh, has commiserated with the people and communities of Ikosi-Isheri. In a condolence message signed by the Special Assistant to the chairman on media, Kabiru Gbadamosi, Ariyoh described the death as a shock and the deceased a great leader whose fatherly figure would be missed by all especially the Conference 57 Chairmen of Lagos.

Oyesanya, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was first elected chairman of Ikosi Isheri LCDA in 2011 and was reelected in 2017.
