PDP alleges APC of plans to arrest Dino Melaye before election.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to arrest Senator Dino Melaye before November 16 governorship election in the state, stating that the governor of the state, Yahaya Bello and his campaign director-general, Senator Smart Adeyemi is behind the plot of which they planned on Monday, November 4 in a meeting at Government House, Lokoja.
The statement sent by PDP to journalists on Tuesday, November 5 was signed by an aide to Melaye, Gideon Ayodele.
“The Peoples Democratic Party has called on the people of Kogi West Senatorial District and Kogi electorates to resist any attempt to rob them of their right in choosing candidates of their choice in the elections,” part of the statement read.
Interestingly, while Melaye is a former member of the APC, Adeyemi is a former member of the PDP.
Recall that the wife of an APC governorship aspirant in Kogi, Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, recently alleged that governorship candidates for the November 16 election in the state are preparing for war and not election.
Princess Audu further alleged that there is an ongoing stockpiling of weapons ahead of the poll, although she didn’t state the source of her information.
