Istanbul Chief Prosecutor’s Office release statement, saying Jamal Khashoggi’s body was ripped apart immediately after the murder.
“In accordance with plans made in advance, the victim, Jamal Khashoggi, was choked to death immediately after entering the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia,”
Jamal Khashoggi, who had been a critic of the Saudi regime, was then dismembered, Istanbul Chief Prosecutor’s Office reports.
The Week Uk reports that the statement was released following talks with Saudi Arabia’s public prosecutor Saud Al Mojeb, which apparently ended with no concrete results.
However, the remains of the journalist remain topic of speculation.
“Turkey, the US, and Saudi Arabia have all agreed that he was killed at the consulate. There is still no consensus on how he died,” says the BBC.
The Week UK also reports that Turkey had halted blaming Saudi Arabia but still question the disappearance of the journalist, saying that the murder could not have taken place without orders from some in a senior position.
