An inspector of the Katsina state police command, Muntari Maikudi, has been shot by abductors of President Muhammadu Buhari’s ADC’s father-in-law, Musa Umar, who is said to be the Magajin Garin Daura.
The spokesman of the command, Gambo Isah, in a statement, confirmed the incident, saying Maikudi was attached to Kusada division, sustained a gunshot injury and was rushed to Federal Medical Center Katsina for treatment.
He said the command’s patrol teams at the division engaged the abductors in a gunfight that led to the shooting of Maikudi.
Isah said IGP Tactical Squad, SARS teams, PMF and counter-terrorism units have already been dispatched to rescue the victim alive and safely to his family.
The statement read: “The command enjoins members of the public to always assist the security agencies with timely and actionable intelligence on the activities of these bandits.”Be rest assured that the command and indeed other security agencies are on their toes to bring to an end the activities of these bandits”
“Also, the state’s commissioner of police, CP Sanusi Buba, psc, along with police patrol teams immediately arrived at the scene.”
Earlier, Musa Umar was abducted in his Daura residence, Katsina North shortly after observing Maghrib prayer.
