INEC Reacts To Alleged Unpaid Allowances Amid Rising Tension

Low Voter Turn Out: Inec To Make Drastic Decision

Following the rumor and allegation of some Corp members and Ad-hoc staff, the Independent Electoral Commission has come out to debunk the claims of delayed payments.

The spokesman for the Commission Mr. Olufemi Akinbiyi said Corp Members who are yet to receive their ‘alert’ have issues with their account as some of them have already received theirs

Akinbiyi also said the reason for their protest was because of the money the chairmen and politicians in their local government failed to give them the money they had earlier promised them. earlier reported the rising tension in some parts of Lagos as Corp members and Adhoc staff are protesting over unpaid allowances spilled from the presidential elections.

The INEC Ad-hoc staff have vowed not to commence accreditation until they are paid. As of the time of filing this report, no effort have been made to salvage the situation.
