Barely 24 hours after the inauguration of newly elected Imo state Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, the demolition of Akachi tower built by the immediate past governor, Rochas Okorocha, has begun.
Akachi tower was built on a reclaimed dumpsite that was abandoned by the previous administration.
Soldiers were seen supervising the demolition today and journalists were prohibited from covering the exercise on Thursday.
Recall that Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo commissioned the Akachi monument less than a week ago when he visited the state.
The monument, a massive tower with the symbol of a hand on the Zenith, representing the hand of God, was, however, reserved for religious purposes.
