Nigerian actor, comedian, writer, producer and director,Ayodeji Richard Makun, popularly known as AY Makun, has revealed that he used to be a bartender before his career as a comedian took off.
The 48-year-old who shared this on Instagram on Tuesday talked about his early days as a bartender in Warri, Delta State.
“My early days of being a bartender at NNPC Junior Staff Club in Warri has further confirmed the fact that human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable,” he wrote.
He also reminded his followers that success is usually the result of hard work and patience.
“Every step toward the goal of becoming who you want to become requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of your dedication as an individual,” Sometimes I laugh when people are of the opinion that others just came from nowhere to become who they are today. The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of those depths.
Permit me to tell you the story of Richard Ayo Makun’s bartending days in my new comedy series titled CALL TO BAR.
Do not forget that the struggle you’re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow”, he said.
