The tearful Susan in her query told the elders of the community that her husband was hell-bent on campaigning for Godwin Obaseki even after Edo State Government owed both of them over 11 months salary.
She said, “How can my husband be so insensitive? We are both staff of the College Of Education, Ekiadolor. Godwin Obaseki shut down our institution and has refused to pay the staff their salaries and pensions for the past 11 months.
“Since the unfortunate incident, I made concerted efforts to raise a loan from my cooperative to start a small-scale trade. That is what I have been using to feed our three children and my husband.”
The woman added, “My last child is suffering from an ailment, which we have yet to diagnose because we have little or no money for proper healthcare. This same man refused to look for a means of livelihood other than to be holding political meetings here and there.
“For the past one week, the situation of our last child has deteriorated only for my husband to dress up today and say it is 4 +4 rally he is attending.”
“Even if oga does not have a job he should not throw it in my face. How can he support Obaseki who refused to pay us our wages and put us in this our current state of hopelessness?”
