Highest International Award Nurses,Abducted And Killed By Boko Haram

 The Florence Nightingale medal reviewed that the highest international award in the nursing profession, has been awarded to two nurses abducted and killed by Boko Haram terrorists

The terrorists abducted the women – Hauwa Liman and Saifura Hussaina

the awards were received posthumously on behalf of their daughters, by parents of the recipients, at a ceremony led by the head of the delegation of the ICRC, Elon Fillion, and president of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Bolaji Anani.

Only 29 nurses from 19 countries, who have been considered outstanding, have been awarded the medal globally. According to a statement from the ICRC.

The organization added:

“immortalizes the outstanding contribution and ultimate sacrifice in serving humanity” of Liman and Hussaini.

 “The devotion of Ms  Hauwa Liman and Saifura  Hussaini  to their people, for whom they gave their lives has profoundly moved thousands of people around the world and deeply impacted the International Committee of the Red Cross as well as the people the organization assists.

” The Florence Nightingale award recognizes exceptional courage and devotion to victims of armed conflict or natural disaster, and remains the highest award in nursing.
