The Lagos State gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jimi Agbaje, in the concluded March 9 election has dumped the party over alleged fraud on campaign funds.
Jimi’s in a statement, revealed he was being alleged falsely. He said: “It is necessary for me to leave this party after a series of allegations that arose after our party lost the governorship election in Lagos State.
“I have tried to remain focused and ignored all the distractions coming from the leadership of the party. I am making the decision after due consultation with my supporters and loved ones for the sake of peace.”
In a related development, former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode on Twitter, hints on Jimi Agbaje’s decision to join the All Progressive Congress party.
It was gathered from Mr. Fani-Kayode’s tweet on Wednesday, that Mr. Agbaje was jumping to the ruling party.
He said Mr. Agbaje was going the way of former PDP chieftains Musiliu Obanikoro, a former Minister of State for Defence; Iyiola Omisore, a former senator and Otunba Gbenga Daniel, a former governor of Ogun state.
He tweeted: “First it was Musiliu Obanikoro, then Iyiola Omisore, then Gbenga Daniel and now Jimi Agbaje.
“All my closest friends and brothers are abandoning ship and leaving PDP.”
This news is yet to be confirmed by Mr. Agbaje or his party.
