The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Babahana Umara-Zulum, has whitewashed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Mohammed Imam to win the governorship seat in the state.
Zulum, a professor, polled 1,175, 440 votes to defeat Imam who managed to gather a meagre 66,115 votes.
The unbelievable margin between Umara-Zulum and Imam stood at 1,109,325 votes.
Umara-Zulum is the anointed of outgoing Governor of the state, Kashim Shettima, who appointed him into his cabinet as a commissioner.
The story was however different in Enugu where incumbent governor Ifeanyi Uguwanyi of the PDP whitewashed APC’s Senator Ayogu Eze to retain his position.
Ugwuanyi polled 449,935 votes to defeat his closest rival who had just 10,423 votes.
