Five Projects Pres. Buhari Will Launch In Lagos

Lagos State is known to be the buzzing hub of the federal republic of Nigeria, and the ” Mega City” will be hosting the honorary presence of  President Muhammad Buhari who will bew commissioning a few projects Today.

  1. Ayinke house

Ayinke house is an ultramodern maternity facility popularly called Nigeria’s largest baby factory. The hospital, located within the premises of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja, is an ultramodern 170- bed Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist hospital.

It was upgraded by the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, and is now ready for unveiling by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The hospital was conceived to help in reducing cases of newborn and maternal deaths and it boasts of state-of-the-art equipment specifically designed to cater for the health and well-being of mothers and newborns

2. The Oshodi Transport Interchange

The Iconic Oshodi transport interchange is a project of the Lagos state government aimed at enhancing seamless movement of traffic across Lagos and also to beautify the city. Construction started in early 2017.
In June 2018, the Lagos state goverment announced that contractors have completed the hoisting of Skywalk Bridge linking terminals one and two of the interchange. In November 2018, the government said the project was 83 per cent completed and would be finished in the first quarter of 2019.
However, recent photos of the monumental project indicate that it is far from completed

3. New Lagos International Airport Road

Buhari will also commission the reconstructed Oshodi to International Airport Road today.
The design of the project includes the reconstruction and expansion of the existing carriage to three-lane Expressway on both directions, construction of two-lane Service Road in both directions, construction of Ramp Bridge to provide a U-turn from Ajao Estate to Airport, construction of a flyover at NAHCO/Toll Gate and drainage works.

According to Twitter influencer, JJ Omojuwa, this is the first major lift since 1979. The Airport Road and the U-Turn Flyover will be open for public use immediately. The two Flyovers will be open for use from May 10th (delay due to quality assurance work not being completed).

4. 820 New Lagos Mass Transit Buses

The Bus Reform Project of the Lagos state government unravelled in March with 820 high and medium capacity buses.
Governor Ambode said the initiative was basically designed to inject 5,000 buses, modern terminals, facilitate ease of mobility for residents and also rev up the Lagos economy, among others
According to Ambode, next set of buses in the vision should be assembled in Lagos.

There are additional 11 bus terminals being built in strategic locations in the Lagos metropolis. The government says the project is modelled after modern terminals in Europe.

5. Lagos State Theatre at Oregun

The Lagos theatre and recreational facility is being constructed at the Oregun/Opebi Link. According to a Twitter user, Ayoola Olatimigiri, it has been abandoned for a long while but received sudden attention last week and has been hurriedly completed.
However, there are indications that the project has not been completed.
