The Chairman of All Progressives Congress in the state of Osun, Prince Gboyega Famodun has congratulated members of the new state House of Assembly who are being sworn in today, Thursday, June 6,  in Osogbo.

But the Chairman also challenged the Legislators “to continue the tradition of positive engagement with the executive branch of government in the best interest of good governance”.
In a statement from the party’s Secretariat, circulated by its publicity director Barr Kunle Oyatomi to the media in Osogbo, Prince Famodun urged the lawmakers to “brace up for hard work, because the challenges ahead will stretch their abilities to the limits”.

The State House of Assembly has 26 members out of which 23 are of APC, while the remaining three are PDP.

Prince Famodun reminded the House members that they have “the constitutional duties of oversight and lawmaking both of which require creative and mature interactive communication with various aspects of society as well as the executive.
“To be successful, therefore, the lawmakers need concentration and devotion to duty”, the APC Chairman said.

He drew the attention of the Legislators to the huge security challenges facing the country and reminded them that the state of Osun is not exempted. Therefore the Legislators “have to think outside the box” to proffer a lasting solution.”
Prince Famodun advised that ” needless antagonism with the executive branch of government should be avoided at all costs by the new Assembly.
“You should always prefer dialogue with patience and understanding because these are critical elements in the process of resolving disagreements.”
