Eden Hazard will have to wait to make his Real Madrid debut after suffering a thigh injury in training on the eve of the new La Liga season.
The Belgium playmaker will miss the club’s opening league match away to Celta Vigo on Saturday due to the thigh injury he sustained in training on Friday.
The former Chelsea player, who joined the club in June for a reported fee of £130m, had a scan test after the training session which revealed a muscular injury to the anterior of his right thigh.
Hazard was Real Madrid most high-profile signing in a busy summer for the 13-time European champions, who spent close to £300m on new recruits.
However, he also scored once in Real Madrid’s pre-season matches.
