Dozens Feared Dead in Herdsmen, Adamawa Villagers’ Clash

Numerous individuals were dreaded killed on Friday in Kinere, Simba and Shure towns, in the Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State after some herders conflicted with inhabitants of the zones.

 

It was learnt that numerous houses were set on fire by the herders amid the assault on the towns.

Our journalist assembled that inconvenience began when the herders took their dairy animals to a lake in Kinere town to drink from the lake, said to be the group’s just wellspring of water.

A villager, who had gone to get water at the lake, saw the circumstance and faced the herders.

The villager was said to have been assaulted and harmed by the herders.

Different villagers apparently activated to the scene in a backlash and executed a portion of the herders.

The herders, from that point, attacked the group, slaughtering numerous individuals and setting flame to houses.

Not done, they purportedly went to the neigbouring towns of Simba and Shure, and released dread on the inhabitants.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Othman Abubakar, affirmed the episode to our reporter on the phone on Sunday, yet said the quantity of losses still couldn’t seem to be discovered.

He stated, “The circumstance is under control. We are as yet tending to the circumstance and observing is on. A few houses were scorched.

“The episode was caused because of a lake in Kinere people group utilized for drinking. The herders took their cows to drink there and sadly there was a misconception, which brought about fracas.
