CUPP Reacts To Onnoghen’s Arrest Warrant

The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP has condemned the warrant of arrest issued against the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen by the code of conduct Tribunal, CCT, calling on civil society organizations and others to shut down the country in what is termed “mother of all protests”.
The chairman of CCT, Danladi Umar, had issued the bench warrant, following onnoghen’s failure to show up as his trial stays. Reacting, CUPP called for what it termed the “Mother of all protest” across the 36 states and 774 local government areas on Friday, the day for the next arraignment of Onnoghen.
In a statement signed and forwarded to Daily post by its spokesperson, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, CUPP urged all lawyers, activists, youths and opposition politicians to join in the protest at the local governments and state headquarters against the audacity of the dictator.
“All lawyers, activists, youths and opposition politicians must stage protests and remain vigilant from Friday till Sunday to avoid the political barbarians using the CJN matter to divert attention and sneak in to steal the will of the people”. He said
