Nigerians have reacted to the victory of Governor Oyetola after the Court of Appeal nullified the judgement of the election tribunal which declared Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the election.
Iyamu Igbins a social media commentator who reacted to the news said he was not surprised at the judgement because he had long doubted the verdict of the election tribunal.
“Am not surprised. I knew from the unset after going through the tribunal judgement and the grounds on which the ruling was given in favour of Adeleke, I knew the judgement would not stand as it would be set aside and quashed at the Court of Appeal.
That’s what just happened and that’s why am not surprised, he said
Cent Nipo Chika said: “Who knows what went underneath in this case? I’m very sorry for Osun state.
Although E247 had reported that the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has ruled in favour of Osun state governor, Gboyega Oyetola, in the Osun 2018 governorship election case.
The election tribunal judgment had earlier ruled in favour of Senator Ademola Adeleke winner. Oyetola, his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had filed substantive appeals, seeking the setting aside of the decision of the tribunal.
