The state police command said the officer sustained a gunshot injury and was rushed to Federal Medical Center Katsina for treatment – The command, however, called on IGP Tactical Squad, SARS teams, PMF and counter-terrorism units have already been dispatched to rescue the victim alive and safely to his family. The Katsina police command has confirmed that its officer, an inspector Muntari Maikudi attached to Kusada division has been shot by abductors of Magajin Garin Daura.
E247 reports that the command said its patrol teams at the division engaged the abductors in a gun duel that led to the shooting of Maikudi. Gambo Isah, the spokesman of the command, in a statement, said the police officer sustained a gunshot injury and was rushed to Federal Medical Center Katsina for treatment.
The statement read; “The command enjoins members of the public to always assist the security agencies with timely and actionable intelligence on the activities of these bandits”.
Gambo said; Be rest assured that the command and indeed other security agencies are on their toes to bring to an end the activities of these bandits” ”The commissioner of police, Katsina state command, CP Sanusi Buba, psc, along with police patrol teams immediately arrived at the scene.”
Earlier, E247 reported that the district head of Daura in Katsina state[ Alhaji Musa umar]l was kidnapped by gunmen yesterday, May 1. The kidnappers arrived in his Daura residence at 7 p.m and engaged in sporadic shooting, thereby making people of the area scamper for safety
