BREAKING: Court Orders INEC Not To Conduct Supplementary In One State

The supplementary election to be conducted in Adamawa state on March 23 has been restricted by a state high court in Yola.

The state’s election result was earlier declared inconclusive by INEC after the margin of Lead between two leading candidates in the 21 LGAs was lower than the number of registered voters in polling units where voting was cancelled

The State High Court, presided by Justice Abdulaziz Waziri, granted an interim restriction on the conduct of the election in the 44 polling units, where votes were either cancelled or did not hold.

The judgment came as a result of a suit filed by the governorship candidate of the Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy (MRRD), Eric Theman, who decried the failure of the INEC to include his Party Logo on Ballot papers.

Theman, on Sunday, called for the cancellation of results by the commission after observations that his party logo was not included in ballot papers.
