A branch of First Bank at Isewa quarters in Idoani, Ondo State, was attacked by armed robbers, killing a police inspector and 6 other people.
The attack reportedly struck around 2pm, with sporadic shooting as the bank’s security door which has dynamite was blew open.
Reports gathered that the robbery attack went on for about one and a half hours before fleeing with their loot.
An eyewitness confirmed that some or those killed include the staff of the bank and two customers at the ATM point.
The witness also affirms that five people sustained serious injuries and they are receiving treatment at the emergency section of the General Hospital in Idoani.
Reports also has it that some soldiers stationed in the area later engaged the robbers in a shootout, leading to the arrest one suspect, while the rest fled.
