The presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, pays homage to Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II
The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has visited the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, during his campaign trip to Osun state.
Premium Times reports that Atiku said his visit to the Ooni’s palace is to pay respect to the Ile Ife kingdom.
“Ile-Ife, as the source of Yoruba race, has undoubtedly impacted beyond Nigeria, and this visit is genuine to pay respect to the kingdom,” he said. “All I have to do is to appreciate the Ooni, the chiefs and everyone here for making today a success.”
The PDP presidential candidate was accompanied by the national chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus, former governor of Ogun state and deputy director general (South) of PDP presidential campaign organization, Gbenga Daniel during the visit to the Ooni.
