96 years old Kerala woman breaks literacy record as she topped in Examination, scoring the 98 percent.
A 96 years old Kerala woman, Karythiyaniamma Krishnapilla, has shown that age is just a number to her as she set a record for topping in the Kerala Literacy Mission Exam this year with 98 percent marks.
Amongst 43,330 students who sat for the examination this year, she came out as one of the tops, she receives a merit certificate from the Minister of State, Pinarayi Vijayan on November 1st, 2018 at CM’s Conference Hall for her excellence.
Krishnapilla, when asked about her experience, she said that she is happy that she came out excellent with good grades. she also said that now that she is literally intelligible enough to write and calculate, she wants to, however, learn English in the next term.
Karthiyaniamma Krishnapilla who was a cleaning staff in the local temples local nearby said she has never received any formal education, she was motivated to take the challenge when her 51 years old Amminiamma passed the tenth equivalent examination in 2016.
The project was targetted to achieve 100 percent literacy in the state. The exam is conducted by Kerala Literacy Mission Authority in five levels for class IV, VII, XI, and XII. Meanwhile, 42, 933 candidates who sat for the exam, 43,330 candidates came out successfully in the examination.
