A 9-year-old boy from Ghana has taken his life after his mother refused to give him food.
1st News gathered on Friday afternoon that a 9-year-old boy who hails from Koforidua-Asokore in the Suicide New Juabeng North Assembly, Ghana committed suicide.
The 9-year-old boy is identified as Frimpong Agyei. He reportedly took his life after his mother denied him food.
According to Peacefm’s reporter Micheal Akrofi, the mother sent her son on an errand to get bread from a friend but the child angrily declined because he was hungry and the mother denied him food.
He quickly went to his room and then took his life. Moments later, the mother sent for him to perhaps give him food but to her utmost surprise, her child had hanged himself in the room upon reaching the room.
In a police report concerning this sad news, the deceased hanged himself in his room; with a sponge tied on a long crossbar in the room.
The police are on investigations to bring out their findings. The body has been taken to St Joseph Hospital Morgue.
In a related development, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU has reportedly taken his own life. The OAU student identified as Oboh Emmanuel took his own life due to his poor academic performance.
