Member of the People’s Democratic Party Lawmaker, Senator Ayodele Arise has affirmed there is no metric by which candidate of any party running for the presidency in 2019, can defeat president Muhammadu Buhari.
Arise speaking on breakfast show on channels Television said Buhari cannot be defeated following the propensity of trust in him when compared to other candidate.
The Ekiti state lawmaker added that President Buhari at various instances has demonstrated integrity traits, and it’s on this premise that he is an ardent supporter of the All Progressive Congress government.
while reacting to claims by Alhaji Buba Galadima that Buhari will be defeated in the forthcoming election, Arise said there is no ratio by which it can be concluded that any candidate opposing the incumbent president, will defeat Buhari in the 2019 general elections.
It would be recalled that Buba Galadima had said by the next Nigerian Democracy Day, President Buhari would have handed over to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
Galadima reacting to Buhari’s refusal in signing the electoral bill, said President Buhari is not seeking peace, but denying other candidates a level playing field of transparency and access to power.
Senator Arise, however, dismissed Galadima’s claims, saying even without the peace accord being signed, President Buhari is committed to a free and fair election as there is no desperation on his part.
Ayodele Arise said the opposition party is plagued by the fear of the unknown and the culture of impunity that was prevalent in the previous 16 years of People’s Democratic Party regime, noting that the discrepancies within the electoral bill was a major factor why the President refused to sign it into law.
