The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, says he is ready to face the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari at the 2019 presidential election.
Abubakar during the party’s National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja said he is convinced beyond any doubt that the 2019 elections will be a victory walk for the People’s Democratic Party going by the momentum gathered through its transparent primaries and unity in the party unlike the All progressive congress being rocked by defection and crisis.
Abubakar surprised at the details of money realized from the party’s primaries, said he is being confronted with a huge challenge as such had never happened in the history of the party.
The presidential candidate of the opposition party Atiku said, he was ready for a challenge with Muhammadu Bubari, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in an election debate following the call from the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus, and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki to explain to Nigerians their programmes and policies.
The senate President Dr Bukola Saraki, while stressing the need to make 2019 General Elections credible as if elections are not free and credible, the country would be a fertile ground for crisis, said the party’s National Convention in Port Harcourt, demonstrates, it was ready to regain power and work together to achieve victory.
The senate president also lamented over the economic challenges of the country, adding that Buhari, who had been incapable of running the country, should step aside for Atiku who would offer better governance.
