President Muhammadu Buhari has dismissed the endorsement of Atiku Abubakar by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo, He described the endorsement as an event that least surprised him.
Earlier on Thursday 11 October 2018, Atiku visited Obasanjo with some clerics and top members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Obasanjo while endorsing Atiku said he had learnt his lessons and reinvented himself, adding that Atiku would not preside over a section of the country as he understands the economy better than his counterpart Muhammadu Buhari.
This is however, contrary to several years of demonizing Atiku, notably calling him disloyal and a corrupt fellow.
Reacting on the race to dislodge Buhari from Aso Rock, Garba Shehu, said the party would in no way be distracted by the alliance of his opponents as President Mohammadu Buhari remains the only fellow that can provide the needed change that Nigerians deserve.
Festus Keyamo, member of Buhari’s Campaign Organization said it was bewildered that a character who intends to be President of Nigeria, for the past eleven years, has consistently begged for ‘forgiveness’ from a man who has constantly called him a corrupt fellow.
The organistaion acknowledged Obasanjo’s constitutional right to support anyone of his choice, but drew attention of all God-fearing Nigerians to a character that would uses the name of God in vain and in a flip-flop manner.
