20 men facing prison over mass bar brawl caught on CCTV

A mass bar brawl involving more than 20 men was ‘reminiscent of a Wild West saloon’, a court has heard.

Bar stools and glasses were thrown as two rival groups came to blows at the Arc bar in Headingley, West Yorkshire.

CCTV footage of the brawl shows staff heavily outnumbered during three-and-a-half minutes of violence. Troubled flared when Thomas Walker and Matthew Wild from one faction confronted Harry Walker from the other group, Leeds Crown Court heard. A total of 21 men are being sentenced after each pleaded guilty to affray in relation to the incident on February 17, 2018. (Picture: SWNS) Howard Shaw, prosecuting, told the court: ‘The scenes captured on the CCTV are more reminiscent of a saloon in Dodge City in the Wild West rather than a pub in Headingley.’

The court saw multiple punches being thrown and people being kicked and stamped on as they were on the ground. One person dead in tuberculosis outbreak in Welsh village The bar manager was also assaulted and struck with a bar stool during the disturbance. Only one of the defendants suffered injuries in the incident. Marcus Lamb had to be taken to hospital to have eight stitches in his head and also suffered broken ribs.
