‘129’ is a movie based on a true life story. It reveals the ordeals of the Ikot-Abasi women in their quest to stop women’s taxation by the colonial masters.
According to the producer: “1929 film was done in order to let the world know the part the Ibibio and the Anang women played to stop women taxation by the colonial masters, particularly the women from Ikot Abasi, Opobo Division.
‘1929’ also bring back the pairing of popular Nollywood actresses, Sola Sobowale and Ireti Doyle after the success of Kemi Adetiba’s ‘Wedding Party.’ They both will be re-enacting the role of the Ikot-Abasi women.
‘1929’ also features Nollywood stars like Sam Dede, Becky Odungide, Enobong Ekwere, Nancy Bassey, Uduak Odungide, Nene Antai and many more.
The movie is being directed by Moses Eskor and produced by Viensa productions and Filmone Distribution.
