World Championships: Mo Farah Ready To Compete In 5,000m Despite Injury

Mo Farah is determined to overcome the injury he sustained en-route to winning gold in 10,000m race at the on-going Athletics World Championships in London and compete in the 5,000m race.

The home favorite will look to do a double swoop of both events for the third time in row at the World Championships.

The 34-year old after the race said: “I hurt my leg and I’m going to see a doctor, a few stitches maybe.”

“I’ve got a bad leg,” he explained. “I’ve got such a long stride I got caught twice and at that point I was just trying to stand up.

“I am hurt. I just had to be strong. I’ve got a few cuts and bruises, just recover and get ready for the 5,000m. I’ve got enough days.”

5,000m race begins with heats on Wednesday, and will be Farah’s final major track event before switching to the marathon.
