The police in Bauchi State has launched investigation into the death of a 41-year-old man who was found dead two days after he was reported to have disappeared.

According to reports, late Benjamin Sule, a former MTN staff, left his house located at Rafin Makaranta, opposite the School of Armour on Sunday July 1, to see some people at Gwallameji area in the outskirts of Bauchi metropolis.

The state police spokesman, DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar, who confirmed the incident, said police operatives attached to Yelwd a Division received information on July 4 that the dead body of an adult was seen on top of a hill.

”On receiving the information, the police team rushed to the scene and removed the corpse to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital for autopsy to ascertain the actual cause of death. No mark of violence was seen on his body”, he said.

A neighbour to the deceased who pleaded anonymity said the deceased was called on his phone by some people to meet them at Gwallameji.

“On that Sunday evening, he told my elder sister that some persons called him at Gwallameji that he was going to see them. He even collected her phone battery and put it inside his because he had low battery. He told her that he did not want the people to think he switched off his phone,” she said.
