Someone Could Pay Messi’s Buyout Clause – Guardiola

Following Neymar’s world record move to Paris-Saint Germain, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has previously warned Barcelona that their Argentine star could also be priced away, former boss, Pep Guardiola also reiterated the same.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes that Barcelona forward Lionel Messi’s €300m buyout clause could be activated.

Messi, 30, has been linked with a world record €300m move to Manchester City, though City has denied such claims. Guardiola, who was Messi’s former coach at Barcelona believe it could happen that someone could break the bank and price away the five-time- Ballon d’Or winner.

Guardiola responded after being asked whether Messi’s buyout clause could be activated following Neymar’s €222 move to Paris Saint-Germain, “I don’t know. Someone might have if they have the money and want to spend it.
“It might happen.”
