It’s been almost three months since the Champions League final and yet we’re still talking about it.

Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1, thanks to two terrible mistakes from Loris Karius and two goals from Gareth Bale – one of which being an incredible overhead kick.

But it was the incident in the 30th-minute that caused the most controversy.

Sergio Ramos hauled star man Mohamed Salah to the ground, causing a serious shoulder injury and ending his final and season there and then.

Much has been made of Ramos’ actions with many Liverpool fans believing it was intentional.

His clash with Karius later in the match – which caused the goalkeeper to suffer concussion – certainly didn’t help Ramos’ cause.

And Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp isn’t letting it go.

Just last week, he took another massive swipe at Ramos calling him “brutal” and “ruthless.”

He went on to add: “I do not expect that from him [Ramos], I only expect that he gives more thought to his assessment of certain situations.

“Many people will say that these things happen. But if that is the message we are sending to our children, that nothing is out of bounds and it’s all about winning, then I will be glad to leave this planet in 40 years.

Real Madrid v Liverpool - UEFA Champions League Final

“Am I a good loser? No. But during our preparations we had to talk about Ramos because he had influenced the final the previous year with a dive and a red card [for Juan Cuadrado] against Juventus.

“Real Madrid have deserved to win the Champions League, nobody has ever said anything else. But do you have to have those situations with Ramos? No, you don’t.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are preparing for their next European fixture following that Champions League final – the European Super Cup.

And in the pre-match interview ahead of the clash with Atletico Madrid, Ramos was asked about Klopp’s latest comments.

“He wants to justify himself for losing the Champions League final,” Ramos said.

“It’s not the first time he’s lost a final. To keep him quiet, he’s one of the coaches I voted for as the Best of the Year. Some of us have been operating at a very high level for many years, not sure he can say the same.”
