Diego Costa’s move away from Chelsea seems hanging despite being told by Antonio Conte that he is no longer part of his plans.
Athletico Madrid are favorites to land the Brazilian born Spanish forward but Chelsea want more than £40m for Costa if a deal is to be agreed.
Despite Athletico’s tranfer ban, Costa fancies a return to the Madrid based club, where he made his name but the fee Chelsea wanted looks high for the Spanish gaints.
In a bid to force his move, Costa has threatened to go on strike.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Costa told Chelsea: “I’m going to Madrid or stop playing”.
He reckons that demand means the Blues would now rather sell Costa to Milan than Atletico.
